Virtual Payment Solutions has done integration into various retail POS software packages. Due to the flexible design of our products, we are able to easily accommodate new and existing clients.
We have recently completed a full integration between Postilion and our Transaction Switching System, enabling our system to seamlessly transact with Financial Institutions and other Service Providers using Postilion. This provides us with the capability to perform pin-less recharge requests, as well as other value added services.
The various integration methods VPS uses are discussed below:
1. ISO 8583 messaging specification
This integration uses the ISO 8583 specification to exchange transaction requests and responses. This standard is also used by Postilion systems, used widely with great success in most of the major South African banks as well as several other financial institutions. The protocol is robust, yet compact enough to facilitate easy integration handling high volumes of transactions.
2. Simple pipe-delimited fields messaging
This is a simple protocol where the messages exchanged consists of a small header, one or more fields separated by a pipe character and a small trailer. It is extremely easy to implement, but not as flexible as the ISO 8583 standard.
3. XML Web Service
The Web service is an interface exposed via the World Wide Web, and is SOAP (Simple Object Application Protocol) compliant, enabling integration into a wide variety of vendor-independent platforms.
VPS has completed successful integration with the following channels:
The Vodashop, Vodacom 4U stores and Vodacom Dealers Channel
Massmart Group , Makro Retail channel
Banking – Wizzit Bank, Standard Bank
