TSS PC Merchant 2008 - Bulk Edition


VPS has various printing solutions available to be used for the sale of prepaid airtime they are TSS PC Merchant 2008 Bulk Edition and TSS PC Merchant 2008 Lite Edition.

The TSS PC Merchant Application has been developed on the Microsoft Windows operating system and can be utilized for a stand-alone PC, LAN, WAN and VPN environment. It supports multiple delivery channels.

The TSS PC Merchant 2008 Bulk Edition allows a merchant to print virtual vouchers in bulk format. The TSS PC Merchant was designed to work with most line matrix printer models, but we recommend the use of the Printronix range of printers.

These printers feature low cost of ownership, exceptional reliability as well as high speed printing support. Information is printed on “pin-mailers”; these generally come in sheets of 20 vouchers each, and consist of two parts, the front layer and the back layer.

The front layer contains all the voucher information as well as the pin block – a hatched area where the pin is printed. The back layer is printed with a hatch pattern designed to make reading the PIN number inside the voucher impossible.

Notes:

The huge differences in capacities between the OKI and the Printronix printers can be attributed to various factors, some of which is detailed below

  • The OKI printers are high end dot-matrix printers, whereas The Printronix is industrial line matrix printers.
  • The Printronix printers do not have a duty cycle, which means that it can print for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, provided someone is available to keep feeding paper.
  • The pages per month rating for the Printronix printers was calculated using the VPS software, printing for 10 hours a day, 20 days a month
  • The pages per month rating for the OKI printers is the maximum amount of pages that can be printed per month based on the duty cycle of the printer.  Sustaining or exceeding this speed may cause the motor of the OKI printer to burn out
